Christophe Gilland (*1991) was born in Dublin, Ireland; and after having grown up in Orlando (Florida) and Vancouver, (British Columbia) he moved to Prague in 2009. Christophe’s childhood was divided between picking mushrooms in the Czech countryside; exploring the biologically diverse, alligator infested swamps of Florida, and quietly drawing behind the scenes at Walt Disney World where his father worked as an animator.

Christophe’s recent work is a collaboration between science and wishful thinking. The childish desire to escape the human world through nature distorts both the organism and the observer, leading to a series of dreamy yet methodical hallucinations.
